We're looking for a designer with strong design foundations and a sharp creative mind to join our London office, a short walk from London Bridge and Borough Market. Someone who can make a research report a pleasure to read, then turn around and visualise concepts and branded assets that land with clients and the families we're designing for.
Design is changing fast. AI can produce a hundred images in an afternoon. But volume isn’t judgement. Knowing which idea is right, why a layout works and how to make something feel considered matters more than ever.
Our work is changing too. It’s increasingly about creative solutions, art direction and concept visualisation. It’s also about turning complex insight and knowledge into work that’s clear, beautiful and genuinely useful.
So we’re not hiring against a checklist of software. We’re looking for a designer with strong fundamentals who uses them to think, not just to finish. You’ll have two to four years’ experience, be ready to own smaller briefs and be driven to grow into a senior role.
We’ll be clear about this: we’re looking for a strong designer who thinks creatively, not an ideas person who can design okay.
Your portfolio should show real craft first: confident typography, considered layouts and a clear sense of hierarchy. On top of that, we want to see how you think, from the interesting angle you found in a brief to the routes you explored before landing on the final one.
Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud and AI tools are how you get there, not what defines you. We care less about which tools you know and more about whether you know what good looks like and how to get to it.
We see AI as a powerful part of the creative toolkit that helps us explore more ideas and visualise them faster. It doesn’t replace judgement, taste or craft, and it doesn’t replace the care we take when creating for children and families.
You’ll use it thoughtfully and responsibly, with respect for copyright, our clients’ brands and the audiences we design for.
Email your portfolio and a short note to gigs@kidsindustries.com.
In your note (around 200 words), tell us about one project you’re proud of: what the idea was, how you got there, and where AI helped, or didn’t. No CV needed. The work and your thinking speak for themselves.
You will need the right to work in the UK, as we currently are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
Kids Industries is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from everyone and will happily make adjustments at any stage of the process. If there’s anything that would help, just let us know at gigs@kidsindustries.com.
